Around a month ago I received an e-mail from Stephan Jame's who runs an excellent website called Project Life Mastery, and he told me that there was this guy called Russell Brunson who was offering his book for free!
Now you can take the boy out of poverty but you can't take the poverty out of the boy, and I always am a sucker for free stuff, so I checked it out.
It was for his second book called Expert Secrets, but I saw he was giving the same offer for his first one, Dotcom Secrets, now I did have to pay an $8 shipping cost (so it wasn't entirely free), but I was interested in the premise so I bought this promising book and awaited it eagerly.
What I didn't realize, but know now after reading this book, is that this was a tactic to increase his readership and exposure, or what he calls his free+shipping funnel. First luring you in with the promise of a free book, then after you reach the landing page/see the video, your still reminded that it is free, but you will have to pay for shipping and handling.
After you order the book, you are immediately offered several different, interesting products and course to check out at one time only discounts, and being placed onto his e-mail list, he sends out a series of email that intend to nurture you as a lead, relate to you, grow attached to an interesting story (a soap-opera email sequence as he calls it), and grow his perceived expertise.
At one point in my life I never noticed many of these things, but I can promise after reading this book you will see internet marketing in an entire new light.
THIS BOOK IS EXCELLENT!
It is without a doubt my favorite internet marketing book I have read, because it is simple, straight-to-the-point, filled with easily understood diagrams, and just gets to the nitty-gritty of the art of internet marketing and building sales funnels.
He even deconstructs the very funnel he used to sell this book to me and many other people like it, and how you made a million dollars by upselling two products through this "free+shipping" funnel.
This book is exactly what it claims to be, a simple explanation of internet marketing secrets and strategies that work and the framework to apply it to whatever product or service you are selling.
It is a must buy.
My score? 10/10
